The old and sacred Sergiev-Posad is perfect for a day trip (just 1,5 hour drive, 70km from Moscow). This Golden ring city was founded in the 14th century, a monastery and now in this city is the largest and historically most important monastery in Russia - Holy Trinity monastery.
